1,4-Bis(Vinyloxy)-Butane Usage

1.Vinyl ethers are a new type of active diluents developed in the 1990s for radiation curing. They are active diluents containing vinyl ether structure. Solitary pair electrons on oxygen atom conjugate with carbon-carbon double bond, which increases the electron cloud density of double bond. Therefore, carbon-carbon double bond of vinyl ether is electron-rich double bond with high reactivity, and can alternately copolymerize with free radical, cationic and charge transfer complexes.

2.Vinyl ether can be used as active diluent in many radiation curing systems, such as free radical curing system, cationic curing system and hybrid system (free radical curing and cationic curing exist simultaneously). In addition, in the absence of electron-deficient double bonds with maleimides, vinyl ether and maleimide form a strong charge transfer complex (CTC), which can be polymerized without photoinitiator after irradiation, which is also a photocuring system under development.

3.Compared with acrylate active diluents, vinyl ethers have the characteristics of low viscosity, strong dilution ability, high boiling point, low odor, low toxicity, low skin irritation and excellent reaction activity.

4.With the further study of vinyl ether, especially vinyl ether containing active hydrogen atom, such as 4-hydroxybutyl vinyl ether, the active hydrogen of this kind of vinyl ether can be ethoxylated to prepare unsaturated polyether products with excellent polymerization activity. This product can be used in many fields, especially as polycarboxylic acid water reducer with rapid development in recent years. Ether macromonomers have greatly expanded the application fields of vinyl ethers.
