Irgacure 907 Description
Irgacure 907 is a highly efficient free radical (I) type solid photoinitiator used primarily with mono- or polyfunctional vinyl monomers and oligomers for unsaturated prepolymers (eg acrylates). UV curing, especially suitable for use in pigmented UV curing systems.
Moreover, it has a high photoinitiator efficiency and absorbs wavelengths of 330 to 385 nm. It is often used in combination with a thioxanthone photoinitiator to enhance absorbance.
Irgacure 907 Uses
Irgacure 907 is a highly efficient UV photoinitiator used to initiate UV polymerization of unsaturated prepolymerization systems. Such as: acrylic resin and monofunctional and polyfunctional vinyl monomers. The initiator molecules have a certain light-absorbing ability in the ultraviolet region (250-400 nm) or the visible region (400-800 nm). After directly or indirectly absorbing the light energy, the initiator molecules transition from the ground state to the excited singlet state. Exciting to the triplet state; after the singlet or bimolecular chemistry of the excited singlet or triplet state, active fragments capable of initiating polymerization of the monomers, which may be free radicals, cations, anions, etc., are produced. According to different initiation mechanism, the photoinitiator can be divided into a radical polymerization photoinitiator and a cationic photoinitiator, wherein a radical polymerization photoinitiator is most widely used.
Highly efficient photoinitiators are used in UV curing systems to provide long-term non-yellowing and extended storage. An initiator specially designed for pigment-based UV-curable coatings, inks, and adhesive colored curing systems. It can be used with initiators such as 184 and ITX. Can be used in pigmented ink systems, paper/metal and plastic varnishes and electronic inks. It can also be used as an ultraviolet absorber in industries such as cosmetics. The recommended addition amount is 2-6%.
Can be used alone or in combination, such as mixed with 1173 thioxanthone. Used in inks, varnishes and other substrates such as paper, metal, plastic. High absorption rate, suitable for inks and colored coatings, especially suitable for image technology, such as offset printing ink, screen printing ink, printing plate making, etc.; electronic industry, such as lithography, etc., the amount should be determined by experiment. Unique high absorbency It is especially suitable for UV curable inks and photosensitizers. Mixtures of thioxanthone are commonly used in solder mask inks.
Irgacure 907‘s unique high absorption properties make it particularly suitable for UV-curable inks and pigmented coatings. UV inks contain a large amount of photoinitiator, which is the photoinitiator that causes the ink to dry quickly during the printing process. These photoinitiators are not stable by themselves, and even in a dark environment, dark reactions are highly likely to occur, resulting in individual gelatinization nucleuses, followed by large-scale gelation, especially when metal inks are preserved. A similar situation. Therefore, it is recommended to store the ink pigment separately from the binder. When it is used, stir it with a large machine.
The Irgacure 907 can absorb the ultraviolet radiation energy to form a radical or a cation during the curing process of the ink, initiate polymerization, crosslinking and grafting reaction of the monomer and the oligomer, and cure the ink in a short time. A high molecular polymer of a three-dimensional network structure.
